Nokia Ovi Maps - The Magic Torch that Leads to the Correct way

Nokia Ovi maps is a super cool application for a mobile.It is a Must have for everyone. I am going to share my story about ovi maps which happened to me last year while me and my friends went on a trek to thada falls near tamilnadu border.
Last year my friends organised a trek to go to thada falls.And about 20 of our friends went to that place.Thada falls is located near the border of tamilnadu in India.There are only few buses from my place to that place. So me and my best buddy went in the bike and after a certain point we cannot go by bike and have to go trekking and by walk.The path was full of stones and it was hard to walk. All 20 of us came to the point by bike and left it in the stand and started walking towards the falls .As it was far away and near the forest there was no signal in the mobile.
While walking me and my friend felt little tired so just sat near a tree for few minutes.After refreshing ourselves with a sip of water we started walking.But after walking few steps ahead there was no trace of our friends who went before us . And there was no specific road and path.That was so scary.We thought we lost the path and had no idea what to do. As there was no signal in mobile we were unable to call too. That was one crazy moment of my life.
My Mobile was nokia N72 and i did not activate Gprs itself so my mobile was not helping me at that moment.But my friend has Nokia 5800 Express Music mobile and had Nokia Ovi Maps in it.
But we had no idea it would save us at last .

Then i opened Nokia ovi maps application in his mobile and it has so many features and options. I was just going to every option to see how can we find location and all.And after few minutes i saw the walk navigation feature and as i know where my destination is we used and followed the route shown by the map .We had nothing other than this map to trust . So we just followed the route in it and after 30 mins of walk we finally reached the falls where we planned to go and and after going there still our friends did not come there. After waiting for 10 more minutes our friends came and asked "where the hell were you two ? "and "how did you get here so fast ? " . We just showed the "Magic Torch which showed us the way" , ie The nokia Ovi maps in my friends mobile .Thanks to Nokia for this wonderful application . Without it i dont know how that trekking would have ended.That was a great adventure at last . It is still a memorable event in my life all thanks to Nokia Ovi maps.

After coming to home i told my sister to install Ovi maps in her Nokia 5230.It is so helpful. The Lonely Planet guides is a top city guide tells every best destinations in the town.The My position feature is super cool.

I am also having a thought of buying Nokia E52 soon in future so that i also can use the ovi maps on the go anywhere in the world.But it would be awesome if i could win any one of the mobile in ovimaps contest so that i can get it FREE .

P.S: I wanted to share this incident before itself . But i dint do it because i am not into blogging much off late. SO thanks a lot to Nokia for making me share this exciting moment in my life to everyone in the world !
